A Haiku for Nebraska

A Haiku for Nebraska:

Open Nebraska
All land, sky, and fields of corn…
corn and corn and corn

Well, Nebraska wasn’t the most interesting drive ever.  But we did enjoy our stay in Lincoln.  Especially Peter!  This was his first time in a “big pool,” and he loved it.  These are photos from the phone… sorry about the quality!

We stopped at Ted’s Montana Grill in Denver (so yummy!) for dinner before a beautiful, hour-long drive to Silverthorne, where we are spending the night.  The mountains are gorgeous!

We’re looking forward to another scenic drive tomorrow when we head to Utah.  It will be a shorter drive- only six hours- so we are hoping to have some nice long stops along the way.  A dinosaur park, perhaps??

  1. Love your haiku. All I remember about Nebraska is WIND. I remember when we went out West as a family when I was in 4th or 5th grade: we took a picture at a rest stop somewhere in NE, and all of our hair is sideways! We thought it was crazy. But perhaps it’s not that windy all the time 🙂

  2. Ooo, are you going to Carnegie Quarry?

Really enjoying your travel blog- glad you are having safe travel, despite ping long ball size hail, etc.

  3. Enjoy the sights! I’ve never been to Nebraska! I’m so happy that you got some pool-time in. My kids all loved the pool as babies… STILL DO! Aria’s a little fish and is always the first one in and last one out, no matter where we are. I love the mirror picture too. You were a fan of the mirror as a baby too…. weren’t you??!?
